963 candidates have registered
for the 2023 primary leaving examination-PLE from 38 primary schools and 15
examination sitting centers from both Moroto municipality and district.
Of these,
540 are males and 423 are female
Hellen
Aligoi Amulen the district inspector of schools says by 30th may
2023, all the school head teachers had finalized with the e-registration
process of their candidates and submission of the statistics to the district
education office.
According to
Amulen, the 963 registered candidates show a slight increment in the year 2023
compared to the 928 candidates who registered for 2022 PLE.
Amulen says
the increment in learners was as a result of the relative peace currently in
Karamoja which also gives hope for a better performance compared to the 2022
results.
She pointed
out that the go back to school campaign has also helped to improve on both the
teacher and pupil attendance giving more hope of a better performance.
In 2022
Moroto district and municipality registered 928 candidates, 521 boys and 407
girls where 90 candidates got division one, 544 division two, 159 had division
three, 87 got division four, 38 got division U and 10 never appeared for exams.
