The Bishop of Kotido catholic diocese, Rt. Rev. Dominic Eibu has
encouraged priests at the diocese to carry on with the mantle and fill the gap
left behind by the late Rv. Fr John Bosco Sire.
Fr. Sire who was a priest at Morulem catholic parish
breathed his last on Friday 8th September 2023 at St. Kizito
hospital Matany after battling diabetes for years and he was laid to rest at
Kaabong catholic parish on Monday.
In his message read by the vicar general, Monsignor
Philip Lokiel, the bishop said Fr. Sire’s death took the diocese by surprise,
adding that the prelate it is now upon the priests to fill in the gap that Fr.
Sire left.
He also called upon the community of Kaabong to raise
more priests to support the priestly vocation in the Karamoja sub region.

Meanwhile, Rev. Fr. Wilfred Okello -the parish priest of
Morulem parish while speaking during the requiem mass at Uganda martyr’s chapel
Kaabong said the late came back from his routine medical review from Nsambya
hospital looking weaker and discouraged, prompting him to recommend him for
rest and further treatment.
He, however, says the late Fr. Sire could have been told
of more deteriorating condition than he had expected which made him lose hope.
