Two suspected child traffickers from Napak district have been
paraded before Moroto chief magistrates court to answer charges of child
trafficking.
The suspects Asuman Beye 35 years old and
Anna Sagal were nabbed by police after a tip-off from vigilant members of the
community.
Police spokesperson for Karamoja, Mike
Longole says the culprits were apprehended on the 2nd of May from
their village of Toyep Toto in Iriiri sub-county, Napak district, as they
attempted to take four children to Nairobi for casual labour.
The duo have been remanded to Moroto central
government prison until 31st may when they will reappear in court.
Longole commended the community for their vigilance,
saying the culprits will serve as an example to the would-be child traffickers
