A section of beneficiaries
of the recently delivered iron sheets in Kotido district have raised concerns
about the delays in the distribution of the iron sheets by the district
officials to the rightful beneficiaries.
The concern
was raised by Judith Natuk -the reformed warriors’ coordinator who has been at
the fore front of mobilizing the Karachunas to surrender their guns.
The Prime
Minister Robinah Nabanja on the 29th November flagged off a consignment of
97,555 iron sheets to be distributed to 3,752 beneficiaries in the Karamoja
sub-region.
While
receiving the Iron sheets at the Kotido district headquarters, the deputy RDC
John Magezi Lukooki said the district authorities already had in place the
distribution strategies and were waiting for the 6 million facilitation fees to
carry out the distributions in the different sub counties.
However,
Magezi says he has not yet received confirmation of receiving the money from
the district CAO so as to Kickstart the distribution process.
