Division LC 3 chairpersons are in disagreement with Kotido municipality leadership over roads that were selected to be worked on, citing the selfish interests of the Mayor.

The disagreement stemmed during the launch of the commencement of the road works whose contract was awarded to Magnrod Investment Limited in which the leaders say were not in their plans as the divisions.

The roads whose works were to be launched are Kotido-Rengen, Kotido-Narengmoru, Kotido-Rom rom, Narengmoru-Lochidimeu, Morongor-Kotyang and Losilang-Lodera roads.

Lonya Peter Jupitex -Kotido west division chairperson contested that as the division they are being guided currently by the physical development plan, adding that the selected road of Kotido-rom rom had already been opened and it doesn’t require major works.

Meanwhile, Lomilia Andrew Ariang the South division chairperson contested the selections saying division heads know which roads are urgently needed by the community.

Irar Peter Abrahams the Kotido Municipality Mayor however says the selected roads went through eligible processes before being approved.

There was more confusion when Vicky Akello the speaker of Kotido municipality council denied approving said roads by the council.

However, the RDC who had earlier acknowledged several irregularities and infighting in the municipality launched the commencement of the road works.
