FUFA delegates from the
North Eastern region have encouraged Kotido District Football association –DFA
to embrace organizing association competitions for the growth of sports in the
district.
The call was
made by the General Secretary North East Region Daniel Ekaju during their
mentorship meeting with Kotido DFA members, Media, head of referees and the
Kotido sports union members among others.
According to
Ekaju ,if the DFA organize football matches at the 4th and 5th
division, it would keep the clubs in the district playing whole year round
-which keeps the teams busy hence developing the sports in the district.
Ekaju adds
that despite the fact that there are no awards for these stages, it will still
pave ways for strong teams in the 4th and 5th division
competitions to advance to the regionals and if they are quite good, they will
feature in the top flight football leagues in Uganda.
