A section of communication officers from different ministries, departments and agencies have convened in Moroto in a retreat aimed at streamlining communications in government.

While opening the retreat yesterday at Mt.Moroto Hotel, the permanent secretary at the ministry of Information, Communication and technology, Dr.Amina Zawedde noted that they intend to strategise on how to improve government communication.

Dr.Zawedde says by the end of the retreat, they hope to have strengthened the capacity of communication officers to work as a government and not as a single ministry or agency.

She added that after realizing that communication in ministries and agencies is disjointed, the ministry of ICT together with other ministries identified a taskforce of communication officers to communicate government activities to citizens.

The one week retreat has been organized by the office of the internal security organization-ISO whose deputy director general Col.Katabazi is also in attendance in collaboration with the ICT ministry.
