The Imam Of masjid Noor in Moroto municipality sheikh Abdul Wahab Suleiman has reminded parents about fulfilment of the parenting roles, saying it is not only about producing and educating them.

Imam Abdul Wahab stressed that parents should nurture children with behaviors that can be accommodated and acceptable in the communities.

According to him, some parents have left their parenting roles to teachers yet the teachers only have a role f impacting formal education which they are paid for than nurturing children’s behavior and discipline.

He added that children are given holidays to spend time with parents to make them understand society, religious and cultural norms but noted that surprisingly, some parents have ignored their children, sometimes coming home late or making themselves busy with social media thus creating a parent-child gap.

Imam also urged mothers to accept and fulfill their motherly role of breastfeeding because breast milk is vital in the child’s growth and reasoning.
