A group of reformed warriors together with local leaders from
Kacheri Sub County in Kotido district have met with the community and local
leaders of Orom Sub County in Kitgum district to devise ways of peaceful
coexistence between the 2 sub counties.
Kacheri sub
county LC 5 councilor Lochu John Bosco says the meeting was held over the
weekend in Orom Sub County, facilitated by GIZ so that the community in Orom
can allow those in Kacheri to graze their animals in the areas of their
sub-county.
This follows
resolutions of barring the Karimojong from grazing their animals in Orom
sub-county by the local leaders following numerous raids staged by raiders in
the area.
According to
Lochu, their counterparts and residents in Orom were receptive towards the
proposals by the Kacheri team and are looking forward to peaceful coexistence.
To this,
there is a yet to be scheduled visit from the Orom sub county team to Napeikar
to communicate what is expected from those who will be interested to graze
their animals in Orom sub county.
