Karamoja province team has been given a massive welcome by hundreds of fans from Boroboro trading center in Lira town in a convoy including cars, bodabodas and public address system.

Karamoja will play this 1^st historical friendly game against Lango for early preparation of the 5^th edition of FUFA drum tournament 2024 after being eliminated in the 4^th edition by Busoga province in a 7-1 goal thriller, while Lango province will use the game to prepare for the 4^th edition quarter finals.

Lango province will also use the game as a fundraising tool for a province bus and finances to facilitate the team through the remaining stages of FUFA drum.

Karamoja will miss the services of the long time serving captain Raphael Komakech due to illness, Akol Emmy Brian who is suffering from malaria, Dominic Ayella who underwent a successful knee surgery and Allan Ilukol Jeremy who was dropped.

Meanwhile the team also introduced new faces of Ashiraf Kayizi Budondo united midfielder, Eddy Olar, Ibrahim Wenana for UPDF green stars, Odongo Samuel AKA Mzee G and Daniel Okwi, and also recalled Kasim Januh who last appeared on the province squad in the 1^st edition in 2017.
