Kotido Municipality employees have been accused for absconding from
duty and reporting late at work.
The
accusation was made by Loboke Henry -the chairperson Kotido district Public
Accounts Committee (PAC) during an impromptu meeting at the municipality
headquarters last week.
According to
Loboke, municipality workers have developed a tendency of reporting for work at
8:30 AM to only register in the registry and by 10 AM, they would have checked
out with only about 4 staff visible at the premises while some are cited in
bars instead of being in their offices.
Loboke says
such acts have continually frustrated the locals who seek help from the
municipality and also affecting the district’s position in the local government
assessment performance report.
He has
tasked Kotido municipality town clerk to devise stringent measures to keep
track of his staff and also punish those responsible for such laxity.

Meanwhile,
Emmanuel Okaja the town clerk Kotido Municipality acknowledged the claim and
directed the human resource to take note and manage the registry fully to
identify the culprits for proper management.
