Eight students of Kotido SS have been suspended for pregnancy
following the routine test carried out at the school.
This was
disclosed by Kotido deputy RDC John Magyezi Lukooki.
According to
Magyezi, the girls who are majorly in O-level tested positive after the school
administration subjected them to pregnancy tests.
Magyezi says
the results of the tests prompted the school disciplinary committee to suspend the
girls from school for fear of influencing other students.
He however
says those in candidate classes will be allowed to sit their exams but expressed
worries that those in the lower classes will be affected as the current
curriculum is all about continued assessment.
The deputy
RDC has warned students against reckless behaviors which put their future in
jeopardy.

The
suspension comes just days after the school administration with the office the RDC
resolved to deploy security personnel along the Longiro river to curb
unnecessary movement of students out of school.
Attempts to
get comments from the school administrators were futile.
