The 196 Kotido district
health workers, who had laid down their tools on the 12th December
over unpaid salary arrears, have fully resumed worked.
The health
workers last week resolved to return to duty following a meeting held on the 4th
January between the district authorities and their representatives in which
they agreed to address the several challenges faced by the health workers.
A visit by
our reporter this morning to Kotido General Hospital, established that all the
departments in the hospital were open with a hand full of patients being
attended to.
A medical
worker at Kotido General Hospital who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed
the presence of other colleagues but noted that there was low turn up of
patients.
Frederick
Leperes the health workers representative revealed that he had coordinated with
the in charges of the health facilities across the district and they have
reported for work but also acknowledged the low turn up of patients.

a parent attending to his child at Kotido general hospital expressed gratitude
saying the resumption of work is timely since he was faced with challenges of
paying for laboratory test for his sick son.
