Government aided primary
schools in Kotido municipality have registered a low turn up as the third term
of the 2023 education calendar opens today.
A spot check
on Lomukura primary school, Kotido army primary school and Kotido mixed primary
school established that the learners turn up was low, with classes visibly
empty.
In Lomukura
primary school, Okidi Paul the deputy head teacher noted that teachers have
fully reported but faulted the low turn up of pupils on the laxity of parents
failing to send their children on the opening day of the term.
Okidi says
out of an enrolment of 1,719 pupils in the school, only 187 pupils reported
today with the higher classes registering the highest number.
