Kotido municipality teachers and Kotido District teachers are set to face off in a football match at Kotido Bomah Grounds as they celebrate this year’s world teacher’s day slated for the 5^th October 2023.

Johnny Bosco Obwona- the municipality national teacher’s union chairperson, also a teacher at Kotido SS says in the past years, games were not played but the organizers thought it wise to schedule a game between teachers of the district and municipality.

According to Obwona, Kotido municipality teacher’s team is training vigorously from 2 points one being in Kotido SS school play grounds and Kotido Bomah grounds daily after the lessons.

Efforts to get the comments on how the Kotido district teachers were preparing to face off in the match from their captain and coordinator Okidi Patrick were futile as his known telephone numbers went unanswered.

Obwona has appealed to the general public to come and witness the skills and fitness of the teachers as they celebrate their day, saying this year’s World Teachers' Day celebrations will be commemorated under the theme "The teachers we need for the education we want: The global imperative to reverse the teacher shortage".

Obwona says Kotido celebrations will start with a parade march at Kotido youth center followed by the football match and crowned with a reception at Travelers Corner Inn.
