Kotido district has today received the first batch of 3,776 pieces of the long awaited iron sheets at the district headquarters to be distributed to the reformed raiders and the vulnerable in Kotido district.

Of the 3,776 iron sheets received, 2,060 are pre-painted while 1,716 are plain corrugated.

Ambrose Onoria, Kotido RDC confirmed that a total 6 other trucks are still expected to deliver more iron sheets with the district set to receive a total 18,798.

Onoria however preempts that due to the continued surrendering of the guns by the Karacunas, not all will receive iron sheets except the initial 523 while others will be catered for later.

Paul Komol Lotee- Kotido district chairperson says the distribution exercise will be done according to the guidelines issued by the president, which instructs that reformed warriors receive the iron sheers first while the other 7 vulnerable groups generated from each parish in the district will the receive later on.

Last week, the Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja flagged off 97,552 iron sheets to be distributed in the 9 districts across Karamoja.
