Kacheri sub county LC 3 chairperson Peter Oyatau Aleper has decried
the rising cases of land conflicts stemming up in in the camps of Kaloride,
Napeikar and Lotanyat following the onset of rain.
According to
Aleper the surge in the conflicts with 9 cases registered so far is because of
the rise in the number of those settling down to engage in farming activities.
Aleper says
the conflicts are majorly between those who had settled down in the said farms
and those who just go to farm during the planting season with both parties
trading blames of encroachment into the others territory.
He says of
the 9 registered cases, the sub county authorities have mediated and resolved
three leaving six pending, waiting to be resolved.
