Kotido deputy RDC John
Magezi Lukooki has warned the locals in the areas bordering game reserves and
national parks to desist from poaching, saying those caught will be arrested
and arraigned in the courts of law.
According to
Magezi, authorities have received reports of the escalation of poaching by
poachers who are mainly using Flash lights, illegal guns, bow and arrows to
kill the wildlife, something he says endangers the wildlife population.
Magezi says
they have also received reports that the main markets for this game meat are in
town majorly the areas of Narikapet and Entebbe area.
Magezi has
advised those involved in the killing and the sale of game meat to desist from
these acts and become the major protectors of the wild life.
