Matheniko County MP John
Baptist Lokii has expressed worries over the performance of Parish Development
Model Funds in the drought struck Karamoja sub region.
Lokii argues
that the PDM project is a better program to uplift the livelihoods of the
people but it might be a different story in Karamoja due to the timing despite
the money being dispatched to the beneficiary groups.
Lokii adds
that most people who picked the money had proposed crop farming which cannot be
achieved due to drought thus putting the idea of revolving funds in suspense
for Karamoja sub-region.
The
legislator adds that due long spells of drought that has caused hunger in the
region, some people have decided to use PDM funds to buy food for survival.
