A midwife attached to
Namalu health centre three has been shot dead by suspected Pokot warriors in
Kakingol village, Kawach sub-county in Nakapiripirit district.
According to
police spokesperson for Karamoja, Mike Longole, Alice Longok aged 30 years old
met her fate in the hands of about 20 warriors armed with 13 guns and bows and
arrows.
Longole adds
that the bandits were following the track of stolen animals, which passed near
the home of the deceased.
Police
visited the scene of the crime and recovered cartridges and they are yet to
establish the motive of the killing.
Longok’s
body was taken to Tokora health centre four for postmortem and later taken to Namalu
health centre, pending handover to the family.
