Moroto city status has finally been confirmed after a long waiting
process by both politicians and the local people.
The
confirmation follows a revelation by the minister of finance Matia Kasaija
today, saying Moroto and four other cities are set to become operational from 1st
July 2025.
Kasaija says
resources for the operation of the new five cities have been secured, bringing
the total number of cities in Uganda to 16.
The five
approved new cities include Moroto, Kabale, Entebbe, Nakasongola and Wakiso.
This
development means that more elective positions will be created for
representation in parliament and at the lower level.
