The Moroto municipality Interim Inspector of schools Daniel Engwau commonly
known as Animal has cautioned teachers against involvement in homosexuality.
Engwau made the remarks today during the first swearing in of a
24-man student teacher guild council for Moroto teacher training institute, an
affiliate of Kyambogo University.
The institute took over the former Moroto core primary teachers
college after government phased out grade III certificates in 2021 in a new
national education policy.
Engwau told student teachers not to involve in such acts saying
they are against norms of existence.
On the other hand, Engwau implored the sworn in students cabinet to
be exemplary in their performance as leaders.
John Nkakwa, a senior education officer, in charge training and
development at the Education Ministry hailed the sworn in student guild.
Nkakwa congratulated the institute staff and the students for
coming together to handle free and fair election.
The Principal Moroto teacher training institute Steven Kamusonge
says leadership is all about self-confidence, adding that character is very
significant in leadership because it encompasses quality aimed at creating
positive change.
However, Kamusonge, says true leadership goes beyond by creating
relations to achieve a set vision.
