The national research institute Zardi in Nabilatuk district has received a total of 500 million shillings to implement seed production as one of the measures to mitigate hunger in Karamoja.

The funding from government has also been directed to Namalu government prison farm, which will also receive a sum of 500 million shillings.

Nabuin Zardi will use the funds to produce seeds to support 30,000 farmers in the sub-region while Namalu prison will produce food to aid in curbing hunger.

Nandutu and Kitutu were joined by the deputy division commander for third division Brig.Gen.Felix Busizoori, ASTU commandant, Senior Commissioner of police Elias Kasirabo, the Mt.Moroto deputy RPC SSP Ahmed Madiri and others.
