Napak district engineer Sisto Alinga has been arrested by police for allegedly torturing his housemaid, leaving her with grave injuries.

Police spokesperson for Karamoja, IP Mike Longole has confirmed Alinga’s arrest, saying he is under detention at Moroto central police station.

Longole has intimated that unspecified sum of money got lost from the engineer’s home and the suspected attempted to recover the said money through torturing the housemaid.

Engineer Alinga is reported to have inflicted bodily harm on the 15 year old maid by burning her with a hot flat iron.

According to IP Longole, the 15 year old girl, who we cannot mention because she is a minor, has been admitted to Moroto regional referral hospital for medical attention.

He says the engineer will be arraigned before court once investigations are over.
