Schools in North Karamoja
have expressed readiness to sit for the upcoming Uganda national examinations
board-UNEB exams.
According to this years’ time table, national examinations
will commence on Friday, October 13, with the briefing of UCE candidates and
run until November 17, 2023, PLE will be conducted from November 7 to 9, 2023
while UACE, will be conducted from November 10 - December 1, 2023.
A number of school heads have expressed readiness to sit for the
examinations saying their learners are also fully prepared.
Paul Kibuuka the director of studies at Kotido SS says they have
been preparing their students right from first term, adding that in the
remaining weeks to exams, they will be engaging the students in seminars and practical
lesson.
Kibuuka disclosed that they registered 243 candidates for UCE
and 98 students for UACE.

Meanwhile, Rose Mary Nakoli, the head teacher, Kaabong SS says
they registered 163 candidates for UCE and 43 candidates for UACE and she
expressed hope that her school will excel in the upcoming exams.

Juventine Okori the head teacher, Kacheri SS says they also
registered 38 candidates to sit for UCE exams, while Lilly Adong the deputy
headteacher, Abim SS says they registered 170 candidates for UCE and 50
candidates for UACE.

According to UNEB, a total of 1,224,371 candidates
have registered for all the three levels of the final examinations, from 20,921
centers. Of the total candidature, 51% are females, while 49% are males.
