Players, club managers and fans have been warned against sports hooliganism as the 42nd edition of Moroto Uhuru league approaches quarter finals.

In a planning meeting for quarter finals held at Moroto Resort hotel, Albino Lobongo -the chairperson Moroto district football association congratulated the 8 teams that made it to 8 and commended them for the discipline exhibited during the preliminary stages.

Lobong called upon the management of the clubs to sensitize their fans and players against acts of hooliganism which he says is punishable by the Ugandan constitution.

Meanwhile, Nelson Anying, Moroto district sports officer stressed that there is no more space of hooliganism in sports if the region is to realize any development in the sector.

Anying adds that as sports leaders in Moroto they will continue to be very strict on discipline and use of rules of the games.

The quarter final games starting on 29 September to the 2nd October 2023 will see Maroons facing Elephants on 29th September, defending champions UPDF Green stars will take on debutants Nadunget FC on 30th September, Venoms Sports club will face Moroto Regional Referral Hospital football club on 1st October and debutants Rupa football club will square up with Veterans football club on 2nd October and all games are to be played at Naitakwae sports complex.
