Pokot leaders have joined
hands with security forces to combat insecurity caused as a result of counter
raids between the Pokot and Pian communities.
The
resolution was reached at in a meeting held on Saturday, attended by security
forces, Amudat leaders and representatives from West Pokot government.
There has
been misconception amongst Pokot community that security forces have been
working in favour of the Pian community, leading to revenge attacks.
West Pokot
leaders have meanwhile condemned the action of their people who crossed to the
Ugandan side, raided animals and killed security personnel who were tracking
the stolen animals, some months ago.
The Pokot
were warned that attacking and killing security forces while on duty is
unlawful and culprits will be treated as enemies.
