Police in Kotido district have intercepted a total of 52 Eritrean nationals suspected to be entering Uganda without proper documentation.

Police in Kotido district have intercepted a total of 52 Eritrean nationals suspected to be entering Uganda without proper documentation.

According to sources, the Eritrean nationals mainly women travelling with 6 Juveniles came through Kenya via Kamion and were intercepted on Sunday in Regen sub county.

Karamoja regional police spokesperson, Michael Longole has confirmed the interception of the Eritrean nationals adding that the police are still establishing where they were headed to.

According to Longole, police are currently liaising with the immigration office in Moroto so as establish how best they can address the issue.

By the time of filling this report, the Eritrean nationals were still at Kotido central police station.
