Police in Moroto have kicked of investigations into the murder of 33 year old Sino truck driver and attempted murder of another in Kaurio village in Tapac sub-county by suspected warriors.

According to the Karamoja regional police mouthpiece Mike Longole, the deceased Ali Weuyo and his colleague Kenneth Wesonga met their fate as they rode on a motorbike with registration number KMGG 876N.

Longole says Wesonga survived with grave injuries but was rushed to Moroto regional referral hospital, where he underwent a successful operation.

He adds that after a postmortem, the deceased’s body was taken to his home in Lwakhakha town council for burial.

The police spokesperson has however dismissed as false, reports circulating that the incident has led to a halt in the road works along Moroto-Lokitanyala road, saying the road workers and their equipment are safe.

According to Longole, preliminary investigations indicate the murder was targeted.
