One unidentified suspected
warrior has been put out of action in Karenga district and one SMG with 15
rounds of ammunition recovered.
The cattle
raider met his fate in the hands of joint security forces as he drove away five
stolen animals.
According to
Karamoja region police spokesperson, Inspector of Police Mike Longole, the
fateful incident happened around 8:30pm around Lokel area in Kapedo.
Longole says
the thief had camouflaged in a UPDF look-alike shirt with a sheet commonly
known as Nakatuko but security forces were able to identify him as a wrong
element.
Cattle
raiders in Karamoja have on several occasions carried out attacks donning
UPDF-like fatigue.
Recently,
security conducted a search for UPDF camouflage clothes in areas of Kampala,
where several youths handed over thousands of these clothes.
It remains
to be seen what security personnel in Karamoja sub-region will do the rid the
community off these military-like attires.
