Residents of Nakapelimen village, South division in Moroto municipality are gripped with fear following the shooting to death of boda boda rider by unknown gunmen last night.

According to police spokesperson for Karamoja Mike Longole, the victim met his fate on his way home after dropping a customer in Kakoliye.

Longole says the deceased was shot twice on the lower back and died instantly on the spot.

Police visited the scene with a canine dog which led detectives to Kanakomol village behind municipal abattoir but eventually lost track.

This is the second incident in a period of about two months when two brothers were gruesomely murdered in cold blood by suspected raiders.

There are several dark spots within Moroto municipality that provide a conducive environment for bandits to operate and destabilize residents once night falls.
