Longaroe sub-county
chairman together with three other people have been shot dead in Kotido
district.
According to
reports, the chairman, Moses Lomuria was shot dead by suspected Jie warriors,
who were allegedly carrying about six guns in Lopuyo trading centre.
According to
the third division deputy spokesperson, Maj.Moses Amuya, two soldiers Lt.Issa
Mayende and Private David Mwanika, all attached to the 43rd
battalion were also killed in the 3pm attack.
Maj.Amuya
identified the other civilian killed in the attack as Peter Lokol.
The Sunday
attack comes barely three weeks after UPDF’s top brass under the third division
together with police held a peace meeting in Napak district, calling on the
locals to end gun violence.
