Police in Nakapiripirit
district have rescued ten juveniles being trafficked to Kenya for casual
labour.
Karamoja
police spokesperson, Mike Longole says the children were rescued in Namalu
trading Centre, adding that they were picked by their traffickers from
different villages in Napak district using motorcycles.
Longole says
four suspects have been arrested including Angella Regina, a resident of Lobei
village in Lotome sub-county, Korobe Joyce from Lolim village, Longok Gildo-a
resident of Lokwamoru village, Lorengedwat sub-county in Nabilatuk district and
Aleper Leone from Lokwamoru village.
The police
mouthpiece adds that two motorcycles used for transporting the juveniles have
also been arrested.
According to
Longole, the suspects will be paraded before the courts of law once
investigations are complete.
