A driver and his passenger have been rushed to Moroto regional referral hospital, after involving in a serious accident in Naitakwae village, along Moroto-Soroti road.

The vehicles with registration number UBD 579 L was being driven by 43 year old Saidi Kintu,a resident of Agip,Eastern division in Soroti city.

According to Karamoja regional police spokesperson Mike Longole, the vehicle reportedly developed a mechanical fault where the steering wheel locked, prompting the driver to lose control, thereby overturning and injuring the occupants.

Police visited the scene and evacuated the victims to Moroto regional referral hospital and they are reported to be in a non-life threatening condition.

The vehicle has meanwhile been towed and parked at Moroto central police station, pending inspection.
