The UPDF has kicked off recruitment exercise in Karamoja sub-region,
beginning with Kaabong and Karenga districts.
In the
exercise that kicked off yesterday, Col.James Barigye Rukundo who is leading
team seven and the substantive operation and training officer for third
division urged candidates to observe discipline, follow instructions and
exercise patience.
Col.Barigye
assured the applicants of transparent interview stages in order to get good and
qualified soldiers upon completion of training programs.
He re-emphasized
the UPDF’s commitment to maintain dignity, saying no standard will be
compromised in the whole recruitment process.
The third
division spokesperson Maj.Isaac Oware says the two-day exercise taking place at
Kaabong recruitment centre intends to select 22 candidates out of the 36
shortlisted.
According to
Maj.Oware, the team will then head to Kotido for the same exercise on the 3rd
of July, while for Abim district, the recruitment drive will still take place
at the Kotido recruitment centre.
