A UPDF soldier has
sustained grave injuries after he was shot with a bow and arrow by suspected
cattle rustlers in Loputuk sub-county yesterday.

Odeke –attached to the Xray battalion under third division met his fate last
night as he was part of the night security deployed to secure a community kraal
in the sub-county.
The third
division spokesperson, Maj.Isaac Oware says Pte.Odeke was injured on the right
knee but was rushed to Moroto regional referral hospital for medical attention.
Maj.Oware
says the suspects are being pursued by a joint security force, adding that
arrows, bows and spears are dangerous weapons, whose usage by criminal elements
remain unlawful.
On the other
hand, the spokesperson says arrangements are underway by the UPDF leadership to
airlift the injured soldier to Mulago hospital for further management.
