A number of voices have
re-echoed a call to UPDF soldiers under the Whiskey battalion passed today to
uphold the high levels of discipline that the force is well known for.
The calls
were made today by speaker after speaker as they addressed the over 500 troops
who were passed out today at the third division headquarters in Moroto, after
successfully completing their refresher course.
The deputy commander
of the land forces Maj.Gen.Francis Takirwa who presided over passing out the
troops appealed to the group to uphold discipline and lead a responsible life
which will push them ahead for bigger achievements.
Takirwa also
cautioned the troops against acts of homosexuality, saying it is unnatural and
being perpetrated by the western world.
Towing the
same line, the third division commander Maj.Gen.Don Nabasa together with his
deputy Brig.Gen.Felix Busizoori called upon the troops to desist from
alcoholism and work towards protecting and respecting human rights.
The troops
underwent a refresher training in cordon and search, ambush, platoon commander
among other fields, under the command of Maj.Richard Ariko, the third division
training officer in collaboration with other trainers.
The pass out
event was also attended by other dignatories including the RDC Moroto, RISO,
Mt.Moroto RPC and others.
