A notorious warrior who has
been on the wanted list of security forces has voluntarily surrendered his gun
to the third division commander, Maj.Gen.Don Nabasa.
The third
division acting spokesperson, Maj.Moses Amuya has identified the warrior as
Paul Longoli, a resident of Lolelia in Kaabong district.
Maj.Amuya
says Longoli surrendered the illegal gun in his possession to Maj.Gen.Nabasa at
Karenga town council in Karenga district.
Longoli
disclosed that he has been sharing the gun with his other accomplices within
Kaabong district, as they terrorized residents in the districts of Kaabong,
Kotido and Karenga.
While
receiving the gun, the third division commander, Maj.Gen.Don Nabasa commended
Longoli for his initiative and called upon others still at large to emulate
Longoli and hand over their illegal weapons to authorities.
The move
taken by Longoli restores hope among residents of Karenga who had witnessed a
surge in both the locals and security personnel in the months of October and
November.
Longoli had
for long been feared and profiled by security as one of the most notorious
warriors terrorizing North Karamoja.
